Mornin' Y'all,
Today I am bringing to you some Americana, courtesy of Dreaming Tree's (3dsvg.com) Love You Mom Bundle. This bundle is amazing all on it's own but when I saw it I thought of my mother in law who was born on the 4th of July. That is independence day here in America and our first year without her, so in honor of her I made a Love you Mom Hydrangea Tray Americana style. Happy Mother's day to you Joan, we love you with all our hearts!
To change the center panels for the flower pots I ungrouped and release compound path, then moved the letters off to the side. I used the star shape from Star Gift Box to replace the letters by placing the star in the center of the panel and then making a compound path. Each panel was inked on the edges and to the front a bit with Tim Hotlz vintage photo ink. The same ink was used on the boxes as well as the sides and front panel for the tray and the vanilla flowers. This is to give it the vintage Americana feel. I used the star that goes on the front of the Star Gift Box to bring out some dimension. Cut the panels from your chosen pattern paper. Each star was cut from ruby slipper, vanilla and admiral card stock. A thin covering of Star Dust Stickles was added to bring out the stars.
The lids for the boxes were cut using the same red, vanilla, and blue theme. I started with the lids all being vanilla just as they are similarly on in the instructions but it just didn't pop to me, so they were changed. The flowers are cut from the same three colors and white pins were purchased and inked with my E37 Copic Marker. I knew when I purchased them I would be changing the color. Another cute idea would be to make them red white and blue on the different flowers. You can change the color of any peal or clear rhinestone by using a permanent marker. But it is your design so you do what appeals to you most. The leaves were cut using Bazzill Rain Forest and inked with Always Artichoke from Stampin up. I chose a darker red and blue to ink the flowers. The Brackets were cut using the Ruby Slipper from Bazzill and Hero Arts Metallic Décor blue adhesives where added to the holes.
I started this whole project thinking of my mother in law for Mother's Day and ended with thinking about her again this time what would have been her 96th birthday. So here is to you mom, Happy Mother's Day and Happy Birthday you are in our hearts forever. Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog, Have a wonderful Mother's day and Happy Craftin' Y'all!
Blessings, Sharalyn

A Card with Thought
Hey Y'all,
It is another lovely Sunday afternoon here in Joshua Tree. The blooms are winding down and so are my allergies. Just a note to those who may want to duplicate my designs, I do use Silhouette Designer addition and Silhouette Cameo. These machines and the eclips are capable of doing the actions described. If you use a Circut you are limited in the actions you can do or you will need to figure out the best way to achieve the same result. It was pointed out to me the some had been confused by my instructions, this may have been because our machines are different and require different actions to get the same result.
I wanted to share with you my gift in a card so to speak. I liked the Blossom Tag that was the freebie on 3dsvg.com (Dreaming Tree) but decided it needed to be a card and gift as well. I made the front edge of the card to tear off to be used as a bookmark for future use. This way the person will have this keepsake for a long time.
Order and download the free tag on Blossom Tag (Free SVG). Bring the tag onto your virtual mat and ungroup and release compound path. Group the center cut pieces together so you don't loose any when you are moving it to the larger tag shape. Holding down the shift key choose the cut out for the ribbon and the body of the tag, group those together or make a compound path. Duplicate the tag shape and make one larger. All cut sizes will be listed at the bottom of this post. Move the larger one off the side.
Using the other tag move the grouped cut pieces back over it and size the cut pieces to fit into the new sized tag. Select the tag and the cut pieces and make a compound path. This is your new bookmark. Bring the larger tag over to the one and slightly overlap the side pieces just so they can be welded together. Draw a perforated line down the center of the now tag card and group.
I cut a slightly smaller piece of card stock vellum to glue to the back of the bookmark then backed that with another piece of patterned card stock. You could omit the vellum and just use the patterned cardstock if you would like.
The flowers were cut first at the larger size then another smaller size to glue one onto the other. This gives the flowers and front of your card a little more depth. Once it becomes a bookmark the flowers will flatten with time. I added enamel dots to the center of the flowers after the edges were inked with Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink. The bird was given a little color as well using the same distress ink. I used stamp n' write makers, Soft Suede, Sahara Sand, and Lucky Limeade from Stampin Up to add some lines and color to the leaves, branch and bird. My bird then received a eye using Ranger Enamel Accents Black.
A handwritten message was added to the bottom of the bookmark, then a stamped greeting was added to the inside of the card. Let your recipient know they can tear the edge of the card to allow it to become a bookmark.
Just a small project but one with a lot of thought and I hope you agree, heart. Thank you so much for stopping by and reading my blog. Your thoughts and comments are much appreciated. I hope you like it and if you do decide to make one I would love to see your version of my little card/bookmark. Have a lovely Sunday and Happy Craftin' Y'all!
Blessings, Sharalyn

A hat to remember...
Afternoon all,
It is a very cool breezy Sunday afternoon here today. I hear some of you are having our 81 degree weather. If your done with it could you send it my way as I am used to it being that temperature here this time of year and at 1:11pm we are at 70 degrees. A bit chilly for my liking.
Mother's day is May 8th and I have been thinking about what I could do for Dreaming Tree. I had not had a chance as yet to do that wonderful hat so I took this opportunity to make it Mother's day style. I hope you like it and I will share the sizes I used for the lily as that was the only thing I altered.
I started with my very favorite paper, Graphic 45 Ladies Diary. I need to get myself a good horde of that paper I just love it! Using American Craft Vanilla card stock, I cut the hat at the size it imports and put it together. The edges of the green paper were inked with iced spruce and the rest of the paper was inked with vintage photo by Tim Holtz. Using the flowers from this same bundle I cut flowers from Colonel white, from Close to my Heart. I inked the edges of each flower with Rose Red ink from Stampin up. I shaped the flowers with my Mc Gill Flower shaping tools and set them aside. I cut the leaves from Graphic 45 Ladies Dairy and inked the edges of them with Tim Holtz iced spruce. I always use a sponge dauber as I seems to get better coverage with them.
I knew I wanted a lily if not a couple but the only lily I could find was the one from the Cascade Card Bundle so I used that and made it larger. The sizes I used will be at the bottom of this post. I made tiny dots with Rich Razzleberry stamp n'write marker, then cut the center using American Craft mulberry card stock. It wasn't quite the depth I wanted for the center so I darkened it with the Rich Razzleberry Marker. The edges of the blue stem were inked with bliss blue ink using a sponge dauber to bring the blue from the paper to the design. If I had a blue bells pattern I would have made those for the hat to bring in the blue. (Hint, Hint, Ron!)
Once the body of the hat was made I used a wide lace and mauve ribbon to bring in a delicateness to the whole hat. I curved the leaves and placed the flowers almost in a flowing motion. While I decided where I wanted the flowers to go I thought about how I had read and heard that in those times ladies hats were almost an expression of themselves. I used my Epiphany craft oval tool to place a "cameo" so to speak on the center of the lace and ribbon. One of the roses from the darker paper was my focal point which tied the whole feel of it together.
When I was young I went to a few mother daughter lunches with my mom always wearing matching dresses my mother sewed. This to me is a memory of moms and mothers day and will be special in my heart forever, the flowers the hats the special lunch just you and your mom. This is what mother's day is to me. Making memories and sharing with your mom how special she is.
I hope you enjoyed my Mother's Day hat, if you make one I would love to see it. You can post it on my Facebook page, Shara's Paper Creations, or Dreaming Tree or Paper Crafting with electronic machines. I would love to see your take on them. Many blessings on those moms that did and do so much for their children, I assure you we remember. Thank you so much for stopping by on this Sunday afternoon and reading my blog. Have a lovely day and Happy Craftin' Y'all.
Blessings Sharalyn

Celebrate with Style!
Morning y'all,
Today I want to share with you the Cascade Card SVG Bundle from Dreaming Tree. They are so easy to put together and so impressive! There are three cards in this set and you can buy them separate if you want. I wanted all of them so I could play with them! I made these as anniversary cards but they could be made into wedding, anniversary, just because, thinking of you, birthday or sympathy cards. These cards are great for oh I just got invited to ___and need a card! They go together within a few minutes with the exception of the ribbon card which takes a little longer to thread the ribbon but still a very quick card!
I started by cutting my base out of ivory card stock. It is paper that was given to me so I am not really sure if it is called ivory or colonel white? I only know I would like some more of it as it is great card stock and is from Close to my Heart. I cut my patterned pieces from a K & Company pad called Merryweather. I will list at the bottom all the supplies I used.
Assemble the card as Leo instructs and insert your ribbon. I used a wireless ribbon from Michaels. I did have to twist the ribbon in some places to make the dots show but it didn't interfere with the open and closing of the card. I used Stampin up's mini glue dots to hold the ribbon in place at the corners and on the label. The whole feel of the card was very delicate so I tired to keep that feel by not using the solid flowers and not using as many flowers. I used two of the cut flowers on the front of the card and added tiny green pearls from Michaels to continue the green theme. I also added one green pearl at the edges of the card. The label was stamped with a stamp from Stampin Up and color was added using a sponge dauber to continue the color scheme.
The second card I made was the dove cascade card. Cutting the base out of the ivory I used two paper packs from Graphic 45. This time I cut two sets of patterned paper and put one on each side. Again I wanted to keep the feel of this card delicate so I used the two of the cut doves to symbolize the couple and one "flying" dove to symbolize the Holy Spirit. The dove was embellished a bit with star dust stickels for the wings and eye.
The heart was place in the center top and the bow was placed in the center. A small lavender rhinestone from Hero Arts was placed in the center of the bow, then the bow was edged with a copic marker to match the color of the paper. The same lavender was used to back the label and a hand written happy anniversary was added to the front. I used lavender pearls to further accent the card.
The last card I made was the lily card. The base was cut from Bazzill's Mocha Divide. The patterned paper was cut from K& Company paper pack. The Flowers were cut from the ivory paper and edged with vintage photo ink from Tim Holtz. Tiny dark brown dots were added using my Stamp and write Early Espresso maker. I cut the centers from Mocha Divide then darkened them with Early Espresso marker. I had intended to cut it out of a darker brown and forgot so this was my quick fix. The shadow accents for the flowers were inked with Stampin Up's Illuminate ink pad using a sponge.
I glued the ivory pearls into place using Ranger mulit medium matte. The small flourish on the label was cut from the ivory flourishes Michaels sells. I have yet to use a whole flourish but love the small accent it adds to things. A hand written salutation was added to the label using a brown copic liner.
The all were special cards celebrating very special years this year. Mom and Dad celebrated 59 yrs together, my best friend and her hubby celebrated 54 yrs together and our friends from Arizona are celebrating their first year as husband and wife. We wish them all many more years of happiness.
I hope you enjoyed my versions of the Cascade Cards SVG Bundle, as I said these are very easy and quick to put together, in my opinion very impressive! I can tell I will be using this card bundle again! Thank you so much for visiting my blog and Happy Craftin' Y'all!
Blessings, Sharalyn
