A Tweet Card

Happy Saturday everyone!!!
Today I want to share a sweet little card I was inspired by while sipping my coffee and watching the birdies outside.
I was thinking about an up coming  card I was reminded about.
I didn't want to overtax my silhouette to much as it is still very warm here.  It doesn't like to work well when it is hot. I also needed to use it later for a much bigger project so I used my Stampin up bird punch and an EK Success maple leaf punch to make this card.

I know Mary Rudakas from SVG Cuts has two great files that would work for this as well. I will list those files at the bottom of this post if you don't have these punches.

I started with the bird and punched out two using mud pie American Craft/Bazzill Card Stock. Then Cut two from Denim and one using Stonehedge American Craft/ Bazzill card stock.
I adhered  the branches facing opposite directions  to my card base first then punched 6 of each Walnut and Cinnamon cardstock to use for the nest. Alternating the colors of the brown leaves to give it depth.

I wanted the top half of the bird to be a light grey so I did a quick sketch of the points I wanted and using my scissors I cut the grey birds body away from the head. Cut a few small slices in the tail to make it look like feathers. Glue the grey head to the body then glue the bird onto the top of the nest overlapping the leaves a bit. To add the illusion of feathers to the bird I used a light grey pen and drew in a few lines, coloring the beak in grey completely. I made the lines as well using a darker blue to the body. I punched three leaves using Denim and adhered the tip of the wing first so I would could decide how far down I wanted the wing tip to go. The second "leaf" was attached using half of a kool tak  clear foam square, this was to give the wing lift. Cut the stem off of the last leaf and glue to over the top. I adhered a small black pearl to the head using Ranger multi medium adhesive for the eye.

I punched extra leaves using Walnut, Crimson, Apricot, Grape and Dandelion. Lay your leaves out in the color pattern that you like first then glue them onto the leaves on the branch from the bird punch. Start at the bottom first. I used coordinating pens to draw the lines onto the leaves then decided I wanted to make some floating leaves.  Draw small dash lines in-between the leaves. Sitting back and looking at the card I decided it needed something more so I added leaves to the sides. Then all I had to do was add my greeting to the bottom of the card. I wont say what the greeting is for as the person that will be receiving this card may see this post and it really doesn't matter anyway as you can do almost any greeting with this card.

Well that is my card I made this morning. I have been doing some crafting but trying to work on getting the inflammation in my body down and a few other things down and under better control.
I will be posting again so stay tuned. I cannot say when as the time draws near for my mom and dads visit I have been getting ready for months now. I am terribly excited to see them as it has been three years. Much love and Blessings to all of you and as always, Happy Craftin' Y'all!
Blessings Sharalyn
